MODERN SLAVERY TRANSPARENCY STATEMENT

INTRODUCTION

At Deciem UK Ltd, we respect the human rights of our employees, suppliers and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within both our business and supply chain, and we impose those same high standards on our suppliers. We are committed to upholding the principles contained in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Deciem UK Ltd is a wholesaler of perfume and cosmetics and is a subsidiary of Deciem Beauty Group Inc. We are required by law to produce an annual transparency statement which sets out the steps we have taken during the financial year to identify and eradicate forced labour and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.

POLICIES

As part of our commitment to combat modern slavery, we have implemented the following policies within our business:

  1. Supplier Code of Conduct;
  2. Employee Code of Conduct;
  3. Whistle blowing policy;
  4. Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy; and
  5. Occupational Health and Safety Policy.

DUE DILIGENCE

As part of Deciem UK Ltd.'s efforts to reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our supply chains, we require all newly on boarded suppliers to sign an acknowledgment that they have received the Supplier Code of Conduct, understand its contents, and agree to comply with its terms throughout their appointment. Our Supplier Code of Conduct is the foundation we use to set expectations. It is the basis for how we evaluate and help our suppliers meet our high ethical and quality standards in the procurement of our product ingredients and materials. The Supplier Code of Conduct, in conjunction with our standard purchasing contracts, requires that suppliers be in full compliance with all applicable governmental, legal, regulatory, and professional rules and regulations including laws pertaining to forced, trafficked or child labour. The Supplier Code of Conduct includes a prohibition on employing forced, trafficked, child, prison, indentured or bonded labour, and using corporal punishment or other forms of mental and physical coercion as a form of discipline.

Our procedures are designed to:

  1. Establish and assess areas of potential risk in our business and supply chains; and
  2. Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains.

RISK AND COMPLIANCE

We ensure that all our suppliers adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct. We enforce a strict code of compliance and do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking within our supply chains. For example, if we find evidence of a material failure to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct, we will consider seeking to terminate our relationship with the relevant supplier.

INTERNAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Regarding our employee base, we are committed to the highest standards of professional and personal conduct. All employees and officers of the company are expected to conduct themselves within the letter and spirit of our Employee Code of Conduct. The Employee Code of Conduct obliges all employees to behave in a socially responsible and fair manner and with uncompromising ethics and integrity at all times.

All newly hired employees must sign an acknowledgment that they have received the Employee Code of Conduct, understand its contents, and agree to comply with its terms throughout their employment. Breaches of the Employee Code of Conduct are treated with the utmost severity and will result in disciplinary action.

In addition, on an annual basis, certain employees in a managerial position are required to re certify their compliance with and continued commitment to compliance with the Employee Code of Conduct.

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Deciem UK Ltd.'s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year commencing 1 July 2023 and ending 30 June 2024.
